Retiring ungracefully…

This commission was a present for a loved-up couple soon to be wed. The bride to be, can be seen in the foreground enjoying her other love, wild swimming. Her soon to be husband is on the beach with his other love, a pint of Thatchers. A bottle of bubbly also sits waiting for her return from the waves.
Not only are the pair planning to walk up the aisle together but they’re also retiring at the same time. Their chariot of choice is ready and waiting to transport them to far flung fields. In the distance, high up in the hills, sits the castle which is to be the stunning setting for their wedding. Last but not least, three seagulls fly high in the sky, wearing pink ribbons as testament to another life changing experience safely navigated.

I Can Hear Music…

This is a commission for a pair of loved-up music lovers. They wanted a piece of art which reminded them of their time together and how they first met yet included their musical taste. I decided my approach would not be with pictures but with words. Using a little artistic licence, I created their story of how they met, using the song titles of the music they loved. They very kindly agreed to let me display a copy in my shop and if anybody else wanted to purchase it, they could – and they have!

Rosie and Jack…

There’s a little girl I know called Rosie and guess what? She’s horse mad. Rosie rides horses, dreams horses, talks horses, draws horses. Rosie’s best four-legged friend, is a fine fellow called Jack. I was tasked by Father Christmas (alias Rosie’s Mum and Dad) to create a pictorial record of Rosie and Jack together. It’s a collection of cheeky loose pencil sketches depicting the adventures of Rosie and her equine playmate. There’s plenty of cuddles, special moments and a dash of sisterly love with Rosie giving her big sister Kate a lift home at no charge – it’s more of a gentle trot….

Willow’s life…

This is Willow. Her owners asked me to capture her on paper depicting stages of her her life. From being found behind bars in a far off land, sunning herself on a beach, chilling out with friends and opening her Christmas presents. From photographic references I produced this 12 image piece of art in pencil.

Fifty up…

A 50th birthday commission for Steve. It depicts memorable moments in his first 18,250 days on planet earth. Steve can be seen in his youth, messing about on the water, saving the day on a football pitch and planning his escape in a plane, with briefcase in hand.

The more mature Steve is shown meeting up with a whale shark, making the arduous ride up Mount Ventoux, skiing down mountains and, in more relaxing times, firing up the barbecue with his faithful hound Hudson in attendance. Other loves of his life also make an appearance. His Cortina Mk3, the Porsche Macan, his footballing twin sons and his wife – I don’t think that’s in order of importance!
